Georgia Salpa for Primark?!

Penneys/ Primark are teaming up with Georgia Salpa to launch a new beauty range. The range includes two sets of fake eyelashes, fake nails and nail stickers. (It would take a lot more than this to make me look like Georgia but how and ever!)

Georgia Salpa false eyelashes €5 in store end May
Georgia Salpa false eyelashes €5 in store end May
Georgia Salpa false nails €7 in store end May
Georgia Salpa nail stickers €4 in store end May

I really like the fact that Penney's are teaming up with an Irish model for this range. I'm not the biggest fake nails fan in the world but I definitely will be buying the nail stickers! What do you think of this range? Will you buy anything from it?

Rescue Oil: Rescue My Dry Skin!

If you are a regular reader to my blog you will know I'm a tiny bit obsessed with Dealz. I find the most amazing bargains there so I'm totally obsessed. My latest bargain is brilliant if any of you suffer from dry skin. No matter what product I try I always have dry skin on my face. It drives me crazy! I picked up Rescue Oil in Dealz on a whim to see if it would help my dry skin dilemma.

Rescue oil is a small orange bottle with a blend of natural oils, containing Vitamin E, Evening Primrose oil, Almond oil and Peach Kernal oil. I mix a few drops of Rescue Oil with some moisturiser and put on my face at night. While it hasn't completely cured my dry skin it has improved it greatly. It doesn't look as flakey or dry anymore. (So long looking like a snake!)  Rescue Oil Lotion can also help with:
  • Ageing Skin
  • Scar Tissue
  • Blemished Skin
  • Treatment and prevention of stretch marks
  • Before, during and after pregnancy massage oil
  • After Sun Treatment
  • Dry, dehydrated skin conditions
Top Left: Top of bottle     Bottom Left: Drops on hand.
It has similar ingredients to Bio Oil but is much cheaper. It also claims to help with a lot of the same problems. The oil has a pleasant rose or flower scent and is not too greasy on the skin. For €1.49 it is a complete bargain. I would definitely buy this again.

Matthew Williamson Bag for £5 !

Ever since Matthew Williamson's 2009 collection with H&M I have fallen in love with his clothes. I worked in H&M at the time so I was able to grab some great bargains. Including a gorgeous sarong which I wear as a scarf. I love the bright bold colours mixed with the amazing designs. When I learned Sainsbury's are collaborating with Matthew Williamson for Sport Relief I was very envious of those living in England! Unfortunately there are no Sainsbury’s Stores in the South of Ireland so I will have to turn to Ebay top get my hands on these amazing bags!

The bags are available in three colours, Pink, turquoise and mint. All the bags are decorated with an exotic banana leaf print. I'm obsessed with the turquoise blue and I'm dying to get my hands on it! Matthew Williamson spoke about the collaboration commenting "Sport Relief supports projects which are very dear to my heart and I consider it an honour that I'm able to join forces with Sainsbury's to help raise money for Sport Relief with these stylish shoppers".

Each bag is only £5 with £1.50 going to Sport Relief. A Matthew Williamson bag AND helping charity? BARGAIN! Get to Sainsbury's quick before these fabulous beauties are all gone!

Astor Lipsticks!

Astor is a make up brand that I only came across recently. It's very popular in main land Europe with Heidi Klum as the face of the brand. I have tried one other Astor product before click here! and quite liked it. So when I seen more Astor lipsticks in my local Dealz I snapped them up! (Each lipstick is the bargain price of €1.49!) I picked up two 'Rouge Couture' lipsticks in the shades 205 'Red Couture' and 101 'Ballerina Pink'.

The first thing that struck me about these lipsticks is the packaging. I love the design of the lipsticks. They look and feel a lot more expensive than the €1.49 I paid for them. (The usual RRP is £8.99)  Astor claim Rouge Couture lipsticks have 'Impact and shine worthy of the most dazzling high-fashion catwalks' the lipsticks 'Wrap your lips in luxurious silk, with intense, alluring sculpting colours that last up to 9 hours! The delicious creamy texture enriched with premium silk fibers magnifies lips in an effortless application. Luminospheres pigments deliver exceptional coverage and superior shine for rich vibrant colours that last. The sculpting, high definition formula draws lip contours with precious, vivid colour.'

Both lipsticks are really pigmented. The red is a gorgeous shade which I LOVE! The pink is not far off hot pink. It's a few shades down from Barry M 52. Both lipsticks smell lovely, slightly like sweets? They feel really moisturising on the lips and don't dry lips at all.

When swatched the pink is lighter than Barry M 52
Side by side it looks like Barry M 52

If you live near a Dealz store I would definitely recommend to snap these up! Really pigmented, moisturising, nice smelling lipstick for €1.49? You would be mad not to buy them!

Haull! Primark, Dunnes Stores and a Charity Shop!

I'm supposed to be saving at the moment but here are a few items I bought during the week. After this I'm on a total spending ban! Apart from the boots they weren't expensive buys....

I have no heels at the moment as I have wrecked all my other shoes so I really needed something to wear on a night out. These boots are sooo comfortable as they have a really big heel. I bought them in Dunnes Stores for €30 and love them!

Black belt €3 from Penneys / Primark. I love to belt in my clothes at the waist. Penney do great belts for very cheap.

I'm not too sure about this buy. It matches my hair perfectly and was only €1.50. I'm not too sure how to wear it though so any suggestions would be welcomed!

My favourite make up wipes they are great for €1.50!

This was only 50 cent in a Charity Shop. I have become obsessed with quick drying my nails lately, so I can't wait to try this out!

I also picked up this book in the Charity Shop for €1. It has some amazing pictures in it witch I plan to take out and stick up in my bedroom.

Some of the pictures from inside the book!

So that's my haul! I hope you like though!

Essence 24h Hand Protection Balm

Over the last few weeks my hands and nails have been in bits. I don't know if it's the mental Irish weather, warm one minute and back to FREEZING the next. My hands were in some serious need of TLC. While searching for some hand cream I came across a bottle of Essence hand cream I bought ages ago and had forgotten about. This hand cream was only €1.49 so I wasn't expecting much to be honest.

Essence do a range of hand creams. This bottle in particular is designed to repair. Exactly what I needed. It's designed to give intensive care to dry stressed hands. The repair formula is a combination of Shea butter and coconut oil with no oily residue.

I have been using it for a few days now and there is a big difference in my hands! My cuticles and nails are much more moisturised and no longer dry and sore. At night I have been using a lot of this cream on my hands just before I go to sleep and then I also use it a few times throughout the day. The bottle is very handy to throw into your handbag as it's only 75ml. For €1.49 I found this product to be brilliant!

St. Patrick's Day: Easy ways to go Green!

With St. Patrick's day only 10 days away I'm starting to get a bit excited. I LOVE St. Patrick's Day. (Any excuse to paint my face and go a bit mad with colour!) I love the parades, the colours and the national pride that takes over Ireland for one day. (And other places throughout the world!) It's so easy to get into the St. Patrick's Day spirit. It can be something small from green nail polish to going all out with green jeans, crazy eyeshadow and a leprechaun hat. It doesn't have to break the bank either with great bargains from €1.49 there is no excuse not to join in!

Leprechaun hat, Dealz €1.49
Orange belt, H&M €3.95
Green High Heals, Dunnes Stores €20
Cardigan, H&M €24.95
Jeans, Penneys €13
Sleek Acid I-Divine Palette, Sleek.com €8.50
Green Bag, H&M €9.95
Ornage Nail Polish, Catrice €2.79
Irish Princess Tiara, Dealz €1.49

The Sleek Acid I-Divine Palette has the perfect colours for St. Patrick's Day!

Colours Swatched. No primer was used. For a more vibrant colour use Urban Decay Potion Primer before applying.

On my own nails I'm going to wear MNY 753- Lime Green/ Electric Green. It's a gorgeous green with a pearl aspect to it! This will be teamed with an orange dress from Penneys. I have no doubt that a huge leprechaun hat will also be worn!

Will you be getting into the St. Patrick's Day Celebrations this year?

Catrice Infinite Matt Foundation

Every second weekend I spend the weekend in Dublin. A few weeks ago I packed in a hurry as I was late for work. When I got to Dublin that night I realised I had forgotten my beloved Revlon ColourStay foundation! I was going out that night so I definitely needed it. I ran to Boots but they were closing so I had to make do with Penneys / Primark instead. With not much to choose from I picked up Catrice Infinite Matt up to 18 h Make-Up foundation. So did my last minute replacement do the job?

Catrice describe this foundation as 'The velvety smooth new Make-up with an oil-free formula absorbs unwanted shine and ensures a smooth and natural matt complexion for up to 18 hours. Thanks to its moisturizing effect and light-reflecting pigments, your skin will look beautifully radiant. The perfect basis for this season’s make-up looks – without a mask-like effect.'

My first impressions of the foundation was very good. I really like the packaging of this foundation. It comes in a glass bottle making it look a lot more expensive than €6.99. It also has a pump which is brilliant. (the lack of pump is my number one pet peeve with my Revlon Colourstay!)

Slightly darker than my Revlon ColourStay
I picked up the lightest colour 010 Light Beige. In the shop it looked a perfect match but in reality it's slightly too dark for my milk bottle skin. I could get away with it for the weekend though. (Since I was going out to a night club and it would be dark there anyway!) The foundation has a nice medium coverage and I find it blends well. I was happy with the coverage and how it looked on my face. It doesn't last 18 hours (What foundation does?!) but it did last a long time. It  also didn't cling to dry patches on my skin.

I really like this foundation, I just wish it came in a lighter shade! It does have a strong scent so if your fussy about perfumed products I would avoid. If you are not a milk bottle and are looking for a good cheap foundation  I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother's Day is fast approaching (March 18th). If you have no idea what to get your mother here is some gift ideas!

Paul Costelloe has a new line in Dunnes Stores. This Watercolour Print Cushion will be loved by many mothers around the country! A perfect gift to make her happy! (€35.00 Dunne's Stores)

Marks and Spencer's Florentyna Eau de Toilette 100ml €16.00/ £12.00. This is the perfect Mother's Day perfume. I love the shape of the bottle, the flower lid really makes it look pretty!

For a great alternative to real flowers why not get your mother a Lush Tulip? How cute are these?! The Tulip is also the symbol of International Women's day which is an added bonus. Mothers can put their feet up and relax in up to six baths using this wand. For an extra special surprise tell your mother to bury the tag in the garden and water the soil. In the summer she will be greeted with some lovely Tulips! There is Tulip seeds embedded in the tag! I think this is amazing! (£4.95 each so about €6)

Another real flower alternative is a Three Flower Orchid Pot £5.00/€6.00 from Heatons. This is a lovely little present! The orchids are artificial so not only will your mother have this pretty plant on Mother's Day, she will have it all year round! I love the colours in it!

If your Mother is anything like my Mam she will love a handbag this Mother's Day! This Savida Bag €30 /£26 is a great way to show your Mother how much you care!

I hope this helps with Mother's day gift ideas!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there! Especially to my lovely Mam! x

February Favourties

I may be a bit late seeing as it's now March but here are my February Favourites!

Soap & Glory Pulp-Friction Foaming Fruity Body Scrub 250ml
I have been loving this body scrub this month! It came with the Big Splendour Soap and Glory set I bought just before Christmas. It smells slightly different from the other Soap and Glory products. I think this is a good thing however, as I am getting slightly sick of the Soap and Glory scent! (All my products are Soap and Glory at the moment!) It feels great when applied, you can really feel it exfoliating your skin. I have very dry itchy skin, since using this product it has helped ease the itchiness! It does wash away quite fast so I would turn off the water when you apply. This means you won't have to use as much product.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti Chip Top Coat
When my Essence fast dry drops ran out I was all set to buy a new bottle. By chance in Boots I walked by Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti Chip Top Coat and picked it up instead. I'm VERY impressed with this product! You paint your nails, wait two minutes and then apply this as a top coat. After 30 seconds your nails are dry! (I'd give it about 60 if you have a thick coat). Not only did it dry my nails super fast but I have never had nail polish last so long. I always get a chip within a few hours. I don't know how I manage that! With this top coat I managed two days before my first chip appeared. I NEVER get that long out of a polish! Unlike the Essence drops I can see this lasting a long time as the bottle is quite big.

MeMeMe Beat The Blues Face Illuminator Moonbeam
I became obsessed with Benefit's Highbeam when it came free with Glamour last summer. When I finished my bottle I was devastated as I didn't want to fork out nearly €30 on a new one. Lucky I came across a dupe. I have been using MeMeMe Beat The Blues Face Illuminator Moonbeam and I love it! My Mam even asked was I wearing High Beam. To see them swatched side by side click here!

Natural Collection Vanilla Body Spray
I used to wear this body spray for years. I wore it for so long that I could not even smell it anymore! Over the last year I have gone off it and have not been wearing it. I came across it this month and have been wearing it again. I have received loads of complements when I wear this spray. That has yet to happen with other perfume! It's by far the nicest vanilla spray you can buy. (The Body Shop one is horrible!) After eight years of using this spray I always seem to come back to it.

So that's my February Favourites!
