Forgotten Finds 2

So Last week my very first 'Forgotten Finds' went up on my blog. The idea for this post is to make more use of your make up. Like many others I tend to forget about make up when I buy new 'shiny' products. Good products I loved in the past get forgotten about. By 'Shopping the Stash' you can give products a new life. It is a great way to feel like you have bought something without actually spending any money. I actually found it quite easy to stick to the products I picked for last week. It was great to use products I had forgotten about and to rediscover how good they actually were.

This week I have picked.....

M&S Bohemia Perfume- I'm awful at describing perfume so here is how M&S describe it 'An eclectic fragrant blend of lemon, blueberry and bergamot with floral heart notes of lily of the valley, mimosa and gardenia drying down to warm aromas of cedarwood, amber and vanilla.' M&S is a great place to pick up cheap perfume. I got this one half price when I bought another perfume. I find they are dupes for much more expensive perfume.

Benefit Moon Beam - As a great lover of high beam (Or at least my cheap dupes of it!) I often forget I have Moon Beam. Compared to High Beam it is very subtle. I think this is why I always pick High Beam over it.

Barry M 272 Shocking Pink - I love just how pink this nail polish is. It's a very hot Barbie pink that looks amazing on.

Barry M Touch of Magic - I picked this up when I was in London at Easter. I adore this lipstick. It's a bit crazy looking as it is green when you open it, but when you put it on your lips it turns a colour unique to your lips. On me it is a dark pink colour. Green Lipstick?!

I never thought I would say 'My new favourite lipstick is green'. Well today I am actually making that statement. I have fallen in love with Barry M 'Touch of Magic'. I picked it up in London last week and have been wearing it ever since!

Ok so at first glance the lipstick may appear to look like the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz.... but do not let that put you off! For this lipstick is actually a magic lipstick. When applied to your lips the lipstick turns pink! The amount of alkali on your lips depends on what type of pink it will turn to.

The lipstick itself does not feel like your typical lipstick, it has more of a lip balm feel to it. The staying power is amazing. It is also waterproof and has added Aloe Vera. I swatched it on my hand the other day, went on a night out and the next morning you could STILL see the swatch on my hand. (Even after a shower I could still see it faintly on my hand!)

It is like the love child of a lip balm and a lip stain. AMAZING! I also do love peoples reactions when they see me take out a green lipstick their faces are priceless! A great product for the bargain price £4.49!

February Empties!

I'm always interested in products that bloggers fully finish and don't just use once and throw away. In my monthly empties posts I share with you the products I have fully finished this month. This is a great encouragement for me to actually use the products I already have and to stop buying products I don't need! (Well that I don't need YET anyway!)

Product - Soap and Glory Mini Hand Food
Price - €3.00 / £2.50
What did I think? - Lovely scent, non greasy and absorbs well. Left my hands feeling softer. Perfect size for throwing into my handbag.
Would I buy again? - I still have a huge tube waiting to be used from the big Soap and Glory set from Christmas. I think I will buy something different after I'm finished that tube. It's not that I don't like hand food I'm just getting a bit sick of the scent and would like to try something new!

Product - Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Morning After Dry Shampoo
Price -   €8.29 / £5.61 (I bought this in a special 3 for €14 deal)
What did I think? - Smelled nice and worked well. NOT worth the price though! Batiste is so much cheaper and does the job just as well!
Would I buy again? - NO!!!!

Product -   Umberto Giannini 'Back Comb in a Bottle'
Price -  €8.29 / £5.61 (I bought this in a special 3 for €14 deal)
What did I think? - I love this product! There is many mixed reviews on Blogs about this product, however, I have to say I LOVE this product. After many trials and errors I have found the best way to use this product for me is give it a good shake, turn your head upside down, spray , and then rub in quickly with your hands! It gives my hair amazing texture and 'poofs' it up. I'm not sure that's it's as good as backcombing but I love the effect of it. A quick blast of hairspray will make it last for the day.
Would I buy again? - YES! (It's the only Umberto Giannini product I would buy again, the rest are dreadful!)

Product -   Barry M Instant Nail Effects Nail Paint in black.
Price -  €5.95 /£3.99
What did I think? - I love this product! I always have so many people ask me about my nails when I wear it. Unfortunately this bottle dried up. I still have a good bit pf product left so that was annoying.
Would I buy again? - Yes, I really liked it :)

Product -  Primark 4 in 1 Deep Facial Cleansing Wipes
Price - €1.50 for pack of two
What did I think? - These are my favourite make up wipes. They don't irritate my skin at all. They are my favourite out of the three colours Primark make. I also much prefer these over Soap and Glory wipes. I found the Soap and Glory wipes stunk my face. These pink Primark wipes don't sting me at all)
Would I buy again? - YES! They are amazing value!

So that is my empties till March! :)

Primark, Boots and Superdrug Haul - Belfast

Belfast is great for shopping so I was delighted when I got a chance during the week to head up North and buy a few things! Here is what I bought!

I finally got my hands on the 17 magnetic nail polish! They have been advertised everywhere for the last few months but none of the Irish stores down south seem to stock them. I was sick of looking in Boots stores and coming out disappointed. There is a huge Boots in the main shopping street in Belfast and they had loads in stock! To make things even better there was a 3 for 2 on 17 cosmetics so I got three magnetic polishes for £12! I will do a review on them soon.

My Barry M Nails effects dried up recently so I wanted to replace it. I bought the Croc version to try out as it is new. (£3.99) I love Palmer's Body Butter so I picked up this Lip Butter (£2.54) while in Superdrug. It smells delicious like after eight chocolates!

I'm always losing earring backs so I picked up a set in Primak for £1. They will be so handy!

Ok so these might be a bit tacky but I LOVE them! It's Primark's rip off of Kate Middleton's engagement ring in both earring and ring form. I wore the earrings the other day and loads of people said they loved them. (So I'm not the only person loving tack!) The ring was £2 and the earrings £2.50. I love them!

So that's my Belfast Haul!

Valentines Presents for YOURSELF all under €5!

I really don't believe in the whole Valentines Day present giving. I think it is a holiday made up by Hallmark to earn a bit of cash! There should not just be ONE day a year when you give a gift or flowers to your loved one. However, who is to say you can't treat yourself to a little present! (Any excuse to shop!) So here is some recession friendly treats, all under €5 each! Turn a little pink/red for a day!

Essence Nail Varnish
Essence is a perfect way to get the Valentines day look! Each polish is only €1.29 so it's the perfect way to get a little pink/red. It's so cheap you can get a pink, red, purple , yellow, blue .....

Barry M Nail Paint
I love Barry M Nail polishes! They are always really pigmented and have a thick formula. The shade 'shocking Pink 272' is perfect for Valentines. It's fantastic quality for €4.50

Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipstick
Catrice have very cheap lipsticks. I LOVE the colour 140 Pinker-bell. It is a Hot pink lipstick. Also a lovely Valentines lipstick is 080 My Red Card! Go on put on a bit of colour! (€4.99 each)

Collection 2000 Hot Looks Fast Dry Nail Polish
Collection 2000 also have super cheap nail polish. They are only £1.79 (about €2.20) so it won't break the bank!

Lush Leap Frog
This lovely green frog with his bright red lips is a lovely little Valentines friend! For the extremely brave girls out there this little green frog is a reminder of what happens this year. 2012 is a leap year where girls get to propose! (I could NEVER do this!)

So will you be treating yourself this year?

New Years Eve Nails

Well New Year's Eve is finally here! It's goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012 (if we survive that long and there is no end of the world!) I wanted glitter nails to ring in the New Year so here is my New Years Eve Nails!

I first painted my nails blue with Barry M '294 Cyan Blue' which is a gorgeous light blue. It's very pigmented and only needs one coat on my nails.

Over the blue I painted a nail polish I picked up in Claire's Accessories. It's a fantastic multi glitter nail polish that reminds me of one nail polishes from the OPI Muppet collection 'Rainbow Connection'. For only €3.50 this is a brilliant substitute for the OPI version! It's perfect for New Year's Eve!

I hope you all have a brilliant New Years Eve and wish you all the best for 2012!!!

Boots Haul

My lovely sister as part of my Christmas present got me a Boots voucher (I was delighted!). I went to the Boots in Stephen's Green thinking I would pick up half price Christmas sets. None of the sets however really stood out for me. Here is what I picked up instead.

The first items I picked up were the Boots Vitamin E Cleanser €4.49 and Vitamin E Night Cream €3.79. (There is a promotion on at the moment so I got the two for €5) I have dry skin so I'm hoping the vitamin E will help my skin! I will do a review in a few weeks and let you know how I get on.

I'm also nearly out of Umberto Giannini 'Back Comb in a Bottle' so I wanted to buy another. There was a promotion on  Umberto Giannini products in which you could get 3 for €14. This is brilliant as each bottle usually costs €8.29, so it now works out about €4.60 per product saving nearly €11! I have tried  Umberto Giannini products in the past (click here) and find they can be either really good or not great. I LOVE 'Backcomb in a Can' but I don't really like the volume shampoo or the salt spray.

I still wanted to try out other products so while they were so cheap I picked up another bottle of 'Backcomb in a Can' and two products I have not tried before 'Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Morning After Dry Shampoo' and 'Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Massive mousse' I will let you know how I get on with the new products!

I still had one Euro left on the voucher so i picked up a bottle of Barry M nail polish (minus the Euro it was €3.50). I have only ever tried the Barry M crackle nail polish so I'm excited to see what this nail polish will be like! I picked up a gorgeous blue in the colour '294 Cyan Blue'

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think of them!
