Lush Products for dry skin !

I have extremely dry skin and now that winter has hit it means even more dry flaky skin. :( I have tried sooooo many products to try and help make my skin more smooth and human like! However, none seemed to work. After reading so many good things about Lush on different blogs I decided to pop in to the Henry Street branch and see if they had anything to help my dry skin dilemma. The shop assistant was so nice. She showed me so many products and really knew her information on each product. I worked in retail for many years so was very impressed by this.

One product that really stood out for me was the face mask ‘Oatifix’ (€6.95). This mask is for dry skin so it’s perfect for me. Oatifix's designed to ‘feed your face’  it contains Bananas as they are a rich oily fruit so they are fantastic to help get goodness into dry skin and illipe butter to leave skin smooth and to provide moisture. The mask also contains oatmeal and almonds that lift dead skin and gently scrub the face leaving the face looking brighter.

This product feels amazing on the skin. Ok, so it’s not the most attractive facemask in the world as it’s very lumpy but I believe that’s why it works so well. After ten minutes my skin felt amazing and my dry skin definitely reduced. I used it many times now and the difference to my skin is unbelievable! This is definitely going to be my new Holy Grail to help keep by dry skin at bay!

Oatifix is kept in the fridge and has a use by date of about 3 weeks so make sure to check when yours goes off!

The sales assistant also gave me a free sample of Celestial, which I am also loving. It’s a moisturiser designed to create a light barrier on the skin to stop moisture disappearing and to keep sensitive skin calm. I will definitely be buying this when my sample runs out!

I also got a copy of ‘Lush Times’ , as I had not bought any Lush products before I found this magazine really interesting as it has all of Lush’s products in it. (descriptions, reviews, pictures and cost) f like me your new to Lush definitely pick one up!

Penneys/Primark Haul!

I was in Penneys/Primark while in Dublin and picked up a few bits and pieces. Here is what I picked up... :)

First up I picked up the Penneys version of The Tangle Teezer for the bargain price of €1.50. I recently got a body wave put into my hair so this is perfect for me. I use it on wet hair and it removes all tangles that have built up. The Tangle Teezer got all my tangles out without much hassle. It was also less harsh than brushing.

A sliver hair clip also caught my eye. It's a sliver hairclip for €3 with flower and leaf design with 'diamonds' :)

Essence nail varnish also found its way into my basket. I picked up two glitter shades €1.29 each and a top coat €2.29.

I absolutely love the two glitter nail varnihes. They seem to have a more jewell like effect rather than glitter. It takes a few coats but looks fantastic! It looks so much better in real life than in photos but hopefully you will get an idea of what it looks like ! :)

Finally I also purchased a lovely silk like scarf for €1!

As always bargains in Penneys! :)

Mua Professional Primer + Nails Inc Glamour Magazine

My Mam is over in Ireland on a visit and as she is so lovely she brought me over goodies from the UK. The first thing she bought me was from my new favourite make-up brand MUA cosmetics!

Make Up Academy Professional Primer

I am a huge fan of MUA cosmetics and was delighted when she gave me MUA professional primer. This primer is designed to leave the skin velvety smooth. Its a face primer that can be worn alone or under foundation. The lightweight formula evens out complexion to give a flawless finish for long-lasting results.

I'm really impressed with this primer its definitely one of the best I have tried. It absorbs into my skin very quickly and leaves a fantastic base for my foundation. I have really dry skin but this primer did not make it worse which I'm really pleased with! My foundation definitely lasted longer and looked more even. The only thing I would say is be careful when you squeeze the bottle as lots come out! Apart from that well done MUA cosmetics!

The second thing she picked up for me is this months issue of Glamour Magazine. Free in this months issue is a full sized bottle of nails inc nail polish. This is brilliant value as usually a bottles is usually €15! The shade my mam picked for me is called 'Tate' a fab dark red colour.

There are four colours available so I might just have to collect them all!

I bought this fab bracelet for €3! I love the details and it looks stunning on! I was very happy with this little bargain!

Next I bought these earrings for €2! I have recently really started to love stud earrings so for €2 could could not resist adding these to my collection!

I'm going out next week and wanted some dramatic jewellery to go with a plain black dress. I found the perfect pieces in Penneys/Primark.

I really liked this ring, it's very OTT but I don't care! It was only €3 and really makes a statement.

I also bought this necklace for €5. Its hard to tell from the photo but this necklace is extremely sparkly! It will definitely brighten up my black dress.

Lastly is earrings from H&M. I bought these earrings in oxford street while visiting my parents. They are from the Divided range and only cost £1. They have a lovely blue tint which I really liked.

Hopefully they will keep me going for awhile!

Urban Decay :Box of Shadows IV

My lovely boyfriend bought me Urban Decay’s Book of Shadows IV! I was extremely excited to see this!

The box is extremely pretty with pop up butterflies and a mirror inside. The box contains 16 eyeshadows including 10 brand new shades! It is the perfect mix of neutral shades mixed with some brighter shades. The shades are not as vibrant in colour as other palettes but this is perfect for me as I can’t wear crazy colours to work. I also have found I’m even turning to more neutral shades in my time off…. I think I may be getting old!

Eyeshadows: Baked (shimmering bright copper),Bender (shimmering dark mossy green), Blue Bus (bright blue w/ purple shimmer), Bust (taupe brown w/subtle gray shimmer), Cobra (sooty black w/golden shimmer), Crystal (light silvery blue w/multi-dimensional shimmer), Gravity (deep vibrant purple w/ multi-dimensional glitter),Gunmetal (dark metallic silver w/silver sparkle), Hijack (greyish green w/blue and green shimmer), Lost (shimmering dark brown), Midnight Cowgirl (shimmering gold w/gold sparkle), Midnight Rodeo (metallic medium brown w/silver and gold glitter), Missionary (light taupe w/pink shimmer), Sin (shimmering champagne), Skimp (shimmering ultra-light nude), Zephyr (shimmering off-white);

Swatches of eyeshadows very pigmented

Also included are a full-size 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, a travel-size Eyeshadow Primer Potion and a travel-size Supercurl Curling Mascara. I love the fact the eyeliner is liquid as it makes a change to other Urban Decay Palettes.

This Box of Shadows is different to the previous Box of Shadows as it contains QR codes to scan for smart phone tutorials, a space to hold your phone  and my favourite bit a speaker to attach to your phone! Perfect for dancing to music as you do your make-up! :)

The speaker works really well and a USB cable is also provided to recharge the speaker. I have not tried the QR codes yet but hoping to get good tips when I do! The Box of shadows also came with a free make-over in Debenhams Urban Decay which I'm really looking forward to! I have it booked for the night I'm celebrating my birthday so very excited!

Overall I'm so happy with this Urban Decay Palette! I would definitely recommend it to any Urban Decay Junkie!

Chocolate Beauty !

While shopping for groceries in Tesco I stumbled across two products that will send anybody into chocolate heaven. Chocolate Beauty: Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula for €1.99 and Vaseline Essential Moisture Cocoa Radiant for a mere €1.04!!!

The Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula I bought is designed to soften and relieve dry skin. This bottle is for hands, elbows, knees and feet. It also helps smooth scars and stretch marks. I Love this product! It smells so good you could almost eat it! It left my hands really soft and smooth.

It has a lovely creamy and moisturising texture it massages perfectly into the skin with no annoying sticky or oily residue. It’s the perfect hand cream for winter months when your hands may need extra TLC. Palmer’s also does not test on animals and at an extremely affordable €1.99 I would definitely recommended you give it a try!

After seeing the new Vaseline Essential Moisture on so many blogs I knew I HAD to try it out. It was on offer in Tesco for a mere €1.04! Yes €1.04! I have paid more for a can of coke so I had no excuse not to put it into my basket.  The bottle is 200ml and is a ‘rich feeling lotion for healthy glowing skin’.  The scent is not as yummy as Palmer’s Cocoa Butter but it is still a nice Coco smell. It absorbs into the skin really quickly and is extremely moisturising. It is also available in Aloe Fresh and Essential moisture(with oat extract).

These products combined will have you feeling soft and smelling divine all winter!

Stila Lipstick

TK Maxx has been in my local town for a while now but I never seemed to find the time to go in. Recently while hunting for winter boots I ventured in and boy was I happy I did! What did I find?  Make up BARGINS! I found this lovely Stila lipstick inside for €3! Yes €3 euro!!! RRP is €17 !

The shade I picked is called ‘Georgina’.  It is a very creamy sheer lipstick. This is perfect for me for work as I can add colour to my lips without them being too dramatic or noticeable. It feels very moisturising on the lips which I like and also has vitamins A, C and E and SPF 20. It has a very strong scent which is kind of suncream meets vanilla but I don’t mind this.

Swatch on my arm

My favourite thing about this lipstick is the packaging which is gorgeous! The outside is sliver while inside has a lovely flower pattern. I thought this was really unusual and really made the product seem more expensive than a usual lipstick.

A Great lipstick for work at the bargain price of €3!
