Avon Haul

Every so often I pick up a good few items from Avon. They have very good sales so it is well worth keeping an eye out. The following items below cost €42.50 but due to sales I only paid €21.50.

First up is Dog Lover Necklace €6.50 - I adore this necklace, sure it might be a bit kiddie but I love it. There are three charms a paw print, a little dog and a bone.

Avon Perfect Kiss Lipstick €6.50 usually €11 in the colour ‘Caressing Coral’ – Lipstick with natural oils to give you smooth lips. This lipstick feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick, it also smells gorgeous a vanilla/bubblegum scent.  Not only was this lipstick nearly half price but it also came with a free lip liner worth €8. I always line my lips when I use red lipstick so I picked up the shade ‘Red Brick’

I also picked up two makeup brushes. An eyeshadow brush €3.25 usually €6.50 and an all over face brush €5.25 usually €10.50. I was quite surprised with the quality of these brushes. The all over face brush is quite soft but has a heavy handle. The eyeshadow brush is good for applying eyeshadow to the lash line or a base coat to the lids. It would not be good for blending. However at €3.25 it is not bad at all!

Just to warn you all the Avon supershock eyeliners are only €4 in the current brochure. I have seen lots of reviewing raving about them so I will definitely be ordering one or two...!

Real Techniques Blush Brush

Ever since I learned that Samantha Chapman from the YouTube sensation Pixiwoo was bringing out her own range of Make-up brushes, I just couldn't wait to get my hands on them.

I was really shocked at how soft the brush was. It was so unlike my other blusher brushes. It takes up the perfect amount of product to sculpt your cheeks. The bristles are synthetic and cruelty free. The shape of the brush is unlike any I have seen before. It is hand cut into a strange round shape. This strange shape however, is designed to contour, shade and to define cheeks. It can also be used for powdering. I love that there are so many uses to one brush!

Real Techniques beside my old blush brush
I love the colour of the brush. It's hot pink so very girly. It's also amazingly self standing so perfect for easy storage as it will just stand on your dressing table. This might annoy some people though as it would take up a lot of space in a storage cup with other brushes.

Brush self standing and close ups.
Previously the brushes were only available to buy online but are now available in Boots. I picked mine up in London for £9.99 but I did see them in Boots in Dublin. This is a great brush for any make up lover. It's cheap enough that it won't break the bank but has the quality of a much more expensive brush.

My Very first Mac Product!

While in London visiting my parents I got my very first Mac product! I'm so excited about this! While browsing in Selfridges with my Mam I came across a product that looked very like the Beauty Blender sponge. I have been lusting after a Beauty Blender ever since I seen it on The Make-up Chair

My lovely mother insisted on buying it for me. She asked the sales assistant how much it was and she replied '£3 or £4'. I was shocked and told my Mam there was no way that it would be that price, more like £15! My Mam said she would get it anyway and went up and paid for it. It turned out it was £15.  I don't know how a sales assistant was so far off the price. I guessed the correct price and I have never even bought any Mac products before!

Unlike the Beauty Blender the MAC version does not expand in water.
The sponge itself is called MAC Pro Performance Sponge. It is small and pink with one rounded end and one pointed end. The odd shape is designed to give precise application and blending of liquid or cream formulas in hard-to-reach areas of the face. It is also latex free. I have been using this sponge for two weeks now and I'm really impressed with it. Usually I'm a apply foundation with fingers kind of girl as I hate foundation brushes. This product has changed that though. I find it so easy to use and it blends so well. It is a firm sponge that 'bounces' off your skin and buffs the foundation into the skin.

The only negative thing about the sponge is that it stains easily. I have only had it two weeks and the vibrancy of the pink has already faded. It also has a few foundation stains on it that despite washing you can still see. However, this would not bother me at all as I'm so in love with the product and would really recommend it to those who want an alternative to foundation brushes.

Mini Boots Haul

Last week I received a No7 voucher. My local Boots No7 counter is not the best so I went to the Boots in Stephen's Green. This has a much better selection. Every time I get the €7.50 voucher I always forget about the No7 make up brushes! I have read great things about the No7 concealer brush online. Luckily this time I remembered to get it! :)

Boots describe this brush as 'No7 concealer brush is ideal for concealing small blemishes, broken capillaries and concentrated areas of pigmentations. No7 concealer brush is a must-have beauty essential for any make-up collection.' The brush costs €9.91 but with the €7.50 voucher it's a bargain at €2.41! It seems a bit bigger than the typical concealer brush (This wouldn't bother me however). It feels very soft and  it's a nice size so it's easy to hold.

While I was in this branch I had a quick look at the jewellery. (My local boots is only small so it doesn't do any!) I have never bought any jewellery from Boots before but they had a sale on with jewellery from €1.50 so it caught my attention! I had been looking for nice broaches to brighten up my work clothes for awhile now. I found these two lovely broaches for only €1.50 each! (They were originally €8.50 each) They will add a bit of character to my work clothes!
