I'm Back!

Hello to all my lovely readers. I’m finally back! After a long break from blogging I finally have time to get back into the blogging world. I started my first full time teaching job back in November so was up to my eyes every night with planning and corrections. I love the job and feel so lucky to have finally found a teaching job. I have settled in now and with the mock exams coming up I will have less classes so I can focus a bit of my time on my blog! Woooo!

So just to ease myself back into the blogging world, this post will only be a small one. I just wanted to warn you all to get your credit cards ready as one of my favourite brands MUA is having a sale! 50% OFF AND FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! For all of you who have never tried MUA now is your chance. If you only get one product I would recommend the brow kit. It is amazing, I have received loads of compliments on my eyebrows since I have started using it. In the sale it is only £2 about €2.38. Too good to turn down. The sale starts tomorrow and MUA will put a sale code on their facebook page.

Don’t miss this amazing sale, you will regret it if you do.

Expect more posts soon!

MUA Nail Constellation

It was with great excitement I discovered that MUA are bringing out a micro beads collection. I have been dying to try Micro beads for ages but with Ciate sets selling for crazy prices between €23 - €25, I have been put off by just how expensive they are. However MUA's version will only be £3! Yes the bargain price of £3! Below are some images of the new products from MUA's blog

Scorpio

Gemini

Libra

Leo

Pisces

What they look like in the bottle!

I'm hoping they will be in Superdrug in Omni Park, otherwise I will be begging my Mam to bring me some over from London. They look so AMAZING! I can't wait to get my paws on them.

Forgotten Finds!

Shopping the Stash posts are becoming so popular across the beauty blogger world. I have been inspired to join in and do my own post. The Sunday Girl always does a great post on this every week. You guys should check her out. Click here!

The idea for this post is to make more use of your make up. Like many others I tend to forget about make up when I buy new 'shiny' products. Good products I loved in the past get forgotten about. By 'Shopping the Stash' you can give products a new life. It is a great way to feel like you have bought something without actually spending any money.

Here is the products I have picked to wear for this week.

Eyeko 'Line and Shine Duo Colour Pencil' for the Eyes' - I picked this up in TK Maxx about a year ago. It came in a pack with two other Eyeko products for €9.99. This eye pencil is double ended, one end is 'Electric Blue' and the other is 'Teal'. hey are both super pigmented and last on the eyes. I don't know why I haven't been using them more as I love the colours.

Avon's Ultra Colour Rich White Gold Lipstick in ‘Platinum Pink’- This is quite a nice lipstick. It has pieces of gold in it which makes it quite sparkly but not in a scary twilight way. It is a light pink,  It gives your lips a lovely sparkle without a very noticeable strong colour. This is good if you want a more neutral looking lipstick. This lipstick smells lovely but doesn't last that long on the lips. It fades naturally though so you don't have to worry about your lips looking patchy.

17 magnetic nail polish in the colour black - I love this nail polish. The magnetic effect works really well with this colour. It gives your nails an almost marble effect.

MUA Professional Heaven and Earth Palette - When I first got this palette I adored it. I used it every day. I used it so much I even broke the cover. oops :( In the last few months however I bought a neutral sleek palette and the undressed palette by MUA. My poor heaven and earth palette was forgotten about. This week I will rediscover its charm.

NYC Blush - Mosaic style blush. Gives a nice pink glow to the cheeks. Super cheap too!

So that is the make up I'm rediscovering this week!

MUA Professional in Ireland?!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I went into Superdrug in Omni Park yesterday. There on a table beside the till was MUA Professional products. (Previously to this the only way you could get your paws on MUA professional range was to order online or get in the U.K) As a huge lover of this brand I always bought some when I went to visit my parents in London. My Mam was also lovely enough to buy me new items when they came out.

So far on the table the Superdrug has:

  • Eye Shadow Palettes including the new square Olympic one
  • Trio Eye shadow
  • Primer
  • Mascaras
  • Alexandra Burke Lip Booms
  • Gel Eye liners
  • Crackle Nail Polish.

Do you want to hear the really good news? Yes of course you do. I asked a girl working there if they would have MUA professional all the time. She told me yes they were just waiting on a stand. That means more lovely MUA Professional products finally available for us Irish girls! The Superdrug in The Omni still have the regular MUA stand with all items such as single eye shadows and lipsticks only €1.35.

For those of you unsure where Omni Park is it is about 20/25 minutes from O'Connell street by bus. Just get the 16 from opposite the Savoy cinema. Or by car here is a map. There is also New Look, Penneys, a big enough Boots and one of my favourite shops Dealz. (Boots and Dealz are outside near the back)

As you can tell I'm very excited and can't wait for the entire range to come to Ireland!

MUA Pretty Pastels Eyeshadow Palette

I am a huge fan of MUA eyeshadow pallets. So far I have collected Heaven and Earth, Glitterball and Poptasic palettes. So you can guess I was quite happy when my Mam brought me home a new palette 'Pretty Pastels'. One look at the colours and I decided this palette will be perfect for spring.

Pretty Pastels like the other small MUA palettes costs £4. It comes with 12 pastel coloured eyeshadows. My first impressions were disappointing as it is not like other MUA palettes.

It is not as pigmented as the other palettes I own. The colours also look different on the eye than they do in the palette. They are good if you are looking for a simple very neutral eye. I suppose they are pastels not intended to be too bright! I just like my eyeshadow to be a wee bit brighter! They can be used as good highlights though!

Swatches, As you can see they are not as pigmented as other MUA palettes
Overall sadly not my favourite MUA palette. You would not be missing out much if you didn't buy it. However, don't let this put you off other MUA palettes especially Heaven and Earth which I LOVE!

March Favourites!

I can't believe it is April already! This year is actually flying by. So a new month means a new monthly favourites. Here is what I was loving in March.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water - After seeing this product over on Viva Adonis I knew I had to have it. I had been searching for a setting spray for ages but did not want to fork out €27 for an Urban Decay spray. This spray is great value it is only €9 for a 150ml bottle. I use this spray to set my make up and to hydrate my dry skin. It also can be used as a cooling spray so it was great during the hot weather we had during the week. It really cooled down my face and refreshed my make up. I have had it for a few months now and still have a lot left.

Rescue Oil - I have been using this everyday since I bought it. Amazing value at €1.49. It has really improved my dry skin. For a full review click here!

Boots from Dunnes Stores - This is a random item for a monthly favourites, I usually just stick to beauty products but I am in love with these boots. They are so comfy and I just adore them! €30 Dunnes Stores.

I have used it so much I broke the cover .... :(
MUA Professional Heaven and Earth Palette - Once again this palette has made it into my monthly favourites! I adore this palette! I use it everyday to fill in my eyebrows and usually on my eyes also. (I work as a teacher so I have to keep my eyes quite neutral. This palette is a perfect work palette.)

Revlon ColourStay in 110 Ivory - I bought this foundation once again the other day. I must be on my 6th bottle by now. It is the perfect shade for my snow white skin and I adore it. I buy it in Georges Street arcade for €10. Just to let you know if anyone else buys it from there that the shop is moving over to the Ilac Centre. It will open a store beside Argos. I'm so happy I heard about this I would have been devastated to find it closed!

So that's what I was loving during March!

MUA Professional Glitter Ball Palette

I Love MUA's Professional range. They are so cheap but amazing quality. I recently added the MUA palette 'Glitter Ball' to my collection.

MUA describe this palette as 'Highly-pigmented shimmer colours, ranging from green to purple, allowing you to create endless looks fit for day or night. Each of the 12 shades can be applied alone for a dramatic effect or mixed to create a personalised look.'

Close up of the eye shadows. (It may look a bit odd as it's two photos combined)
The shades are more glittery than my other MUA palettes but saying that they are not overly glittery. Strange since the name of the palette is 'Glitter Ball'. This would not bother me too much as they are quite shimmery so they are still pretty. There are also no big annoying chunks of glitter!

The palette is very pigmented considering the price £4! Some shades are not as pigmented as others but they are still very usable. My favourite shades of the palette are the four dark colours on the bottom row. (especially the gold colour) I like this palette as it has a mix of both neutral and brighter colours. This is perfect if you are travelling as you can have a variety of looks from the one palette. If you are looking for more choice for day time looks I would recommend the 'Heaven and Earth' palette.

For £4 you can't go wrong. It's a shame the MUA professional range is not available in Ireland a I would stock up on some more palettes!

Favourite Cosmetics of 2011!

2011 is a year where I think I went even crazier about beauty products than I ever have before. My makeup collection seems to have grown considerably over the last year. In this post I will show you my favourite cosmetics of the last year. I picked the products I use the most and love. Here is what made my list J

Urban Decay’s Book of Shadows IV - As a lover of Urban Decay palettes, I was trilled when I received this as a gift for my Birthday. The colours are amazing and as usual are really pigmented. It also comes with speakers and QR codes for those who love their gadgets. For a full review click Here!

MUA Professional Heaven and Earth Palette - I had been lusting after this palette for ages so I picked one up while visiting my parents in London. This Palette is AMAZING for the price! It's only £4 and is so pigmented and is full of amazing neutral colours. I wear this a lot to work and love it. I would definitely recommend everyone to snatch up this little bargain!

MUA Professional Extreme Curl Mascara - This is not only my favourite mascara of the year but my favourite mascara I have ever used! I LOVE  it! It makes my tiny eyelashes look really long. I even got asked was I wearing false eyelashes and that has never happened before at all! It is also a bargain at £2.50. Unfortunately you can't get the MUA range in Ireland but I think there website is starting international delivery so check it out!

Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher 'Sensation' - I picked up this beauty in London in Superdrug I think it was about £5? I had never tried Accessorize make-up before as again it's not available in Ireland :( (come on Superdrug Irish girls are missing out!!) This is a gorgeous pink blusher (It looks more orange in the photo. The first photo is a better indicator of it's true colour.) What I love about this blush is that it gives the face a lovely glow and has bits of shimmer which give a lovely highlight. I will definitely be picking up more from this range during my next visit to my parents.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer -
This is truly a fantastic concealer. It's not too expensive at about €6.50. I have it in the lightest shade and it suits my Irish skin perfectly. I usually find this really difficult! It very creamy and blends so well. It covers everything from redness, blemishes to dark circles. Amazing product! Well done Collection 2000!

Benefit - High Beam - I got this product free with Glamour magazine and fell in love with it! It is the most beautiful highlighter I have ever tried. It really brightens my face and is so easy to blend! I will be devastated when this runs out as it is quite expensive to purchase. I have seen however what might be a dupe which I am going to buy.... Look out for a review soon! :)

Kate Moss Rimmel - The shade that I love is the colour 08. This is a fantastic neutral lipstick that I wear to work. It's really wearable and moisturising. For a full review and swatches click Here!

17 Lasting Fix Lipstick - This lipstick has to be my favourite lipstick of the year! I Have two shades 'Pink Power' (I think it's power pink... the label is no longer on the lipstick) and 'Showbiz'. Pink Power is a stunning pink that looks beautiful on the lips. Showbiz is a gorgeous red I wear on nights out. (also sometimes during the day when I feel brave!) I have received loads of compliments while wearing both shades. Both feel moisturising, creamy and don't dry out my lips. They also last a long time and don't wear off in patches which I hate! Fantastic Lipsticks :) !

What is your favourite cosmetic from 2011??

Mua Professional Primer + Nails Inc Glamour Magazine

My Mam is over in Ireland on a visit and as she is so lovely she brought me over goodies from the UK. The first thing she bought me was from my new favourite make-up brand MUA cosmetics!

Make Up Academy Professional Primer

I am a huge fan of MUA cosmetics and was delighted when she gave me MUA professional primer. This primer is designed to leave the skin velvety smooth. Its a face primer that can be worn alone or under foundation. The lightweight formula evens out complexion to give a flawless finish for long-lasting results.

I'm really impressed with this primer its definitely one of the best I have tried. It absorbs into my skin very quickly and leaves a fantastic base for my foundation. I have really dry skin but this primer did not make it worse which I'm really pleased with! My foundation definitely lasted longer and looked more even. The only thing I would say is be careful when you squeeze the bottle as lots come out! Apart from that well done MUA cosmetics!

The second thing she picked up for me is this months issue of Glamour Magazine. Free in this months issue is a full sized bottle of nails inc nail polish. This is brilliant value as usually a bottles is usually €15! The shade my mam picked for me is called 'Tate' a fab dark red colour.

There are four colours available so I might just have to collect them all!

MUA Cosmetics

I'm just back from visiting my parents in London. One of the first shops I ran to was Superdrug on Oxford Street  to check out the MUA - Make up Academy Professional cosmetics, (which you cant get in Ireland!) I bought loads as they were so cheap. Also there was a 3 for 2 promotion on, so who can blame me? :)

Here is what I picked up:  MUA Professional Heaven and Earth Palette
                                            MUA Professional Poptastic Palette
MUA Professional Brush on Concealer Pen
                                            MUA Professional Eye Primer
                                            MUA Professional Extreme Curl Mascara
                                            MUA Professional Volume Mascara

Lets Start with 'Heaven and Earth' Palette and 'Poptastic' Palette. I am really impressed with both palettes. I usually use Urban Decay Eye Shadow but think these palettes are AMAZING for £4 each!! Look how pigmented the eye shadows are!

Next is 'MUA Professional Brush on Concealer Pen' designed to hide imperfections and to brighten. I got the shade 'Radiance' as it was the lightest and I'm very very pale. It comes in a pen which you click for the concealer to come out. It works well apart from it has a very strong perfume smell though which I find a bit overpowering... but for £2 not bad!

I have been a big fan of Urban Decay primer for years but at €17 a tube I was very excited to see the MUA version. So for £2.50 I popped it into my basket and I was glad I did! Urban Decay on left with MUA on the right. Not much difference at all!

My favourite products are the MUA Professional 'Extreme Curl' Mascara and MUA Professional 'Volume' Mascara. The difference they made to my eye lashes was fantastic. I even got a compliment on how long my eye lashes were for the first time in my life! No other mascara has ever done this! :) Both products were £2! bargain!

Before....                                After....

Overall so happy with the products! But wish you could get them in Ireland oh well! :)
