Penneys / Primark Nails

Anybody that follows me on Twitter or Instragram may have noticed I have gone slighlty obsessed with Penneys/ Primark nails. At only £1 / €1.50 per set it is a very affordable way to change your nails.

Each set comes with a wide range of sizes and with lots of spare nails. A small glue also comes with each set of nails. I usually use Essence glue or Claire's. However, my Claire's glue refused to open for me the other night so I was forced to use the glue that came with the nails. It was not quite as good as The Essence/Claire's but a lot better than I expected. My nails lasted the whole night but came loose the next day. However, for £1 you not bad!

Is anybody else loving these nails?

Where to find Primark Clothes?

I recently received an email from a girl in France asking me did I know anywhere in France that sold Primark  clothes. Since Primark is mostly just in Ireland and the U.K i decided to go on a 'Find Primark Hunt' for any international readers.

Primark clothes can be purchased from many sellers on Ebay. Asos have also started to sell Primark clothes. Click HERE for more details. For European readers outside of Ireland and The U.K. I have listed the countries that sell Primark and also where each shop is. Hope this helps!

Penneys / Primark Autumn Winter Collection

Despite it being the 1st of July, today I'm going to have a quick  look at Penneys(Primarks) Autumn/ Winter campaign. To be honest I'm not completely blown away by what I have saw so far. The clothes are not really my cup of tea but I can see many people being impressed by them. I do however like the look of some of the accessories.

Not sure I would buy anything? Maybe the short cardigan for work?

I'm a lot more impressed with the jewellery. I really like the two necklaces, especially the one on the left.

I'm really impressed with the bags in the Autumn / Winter collection. I will definitely buy one of the €11 bags. I do like the brown bag , but is €22 too much for a Penneys bag? I don't think I could justify spending that much on a bag from Penneys...

So what do you think? Are you impressed with this collection?

Shoe Lust!

It's not often I fall totally in lust with an item, but today is one of the rare exceptions. How AMAZING are these new boots from Primark!? They will be £20 sterling so I would say about €28 euro. I adore both. I'm not sure if I would be able to walk in them, but that is not stopping me. I must get my paws on one of these.

What do you think? Do you love them as much as me or do you think they are horrible? I think they could be a hate it or love it item. I certainly LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Primark Haul!

It has been a while since my last Primark / Penneys haul. However, over the past month or so I have bought a good few things in Primark so here is what I have been parting my cash for!

Bags, bags bags and even more bags. I can't believe I actually bought so many this month, but they should last me ages. (I hope so anyway...) Before I went on holiday I wanted to buy small bags I could easily fit into my suitcase and had a long strap so it could go over me. I knew I was going to a theme park and to Barcelona so I wanted to keep my items in my bag secure. Both were around €6/€7.

The most expensive item I picked up was my new suitcase. It was only €24 which is really good value for a suitcase. It also fits perfectly into the bloody Ryanair cage that they put your hand luggage into. I love the design it's simple yet pretty.

While I was supervising the exams I needed to carry around an A4 sized folder so I needed a bag big enough to hold it. I picked up a great bargain. A lovely turquoise blue bag reduced from €13 to €5. This bag is amazing it's like a Mary Poppins's bag as it holds SO much! I still can't believe how much I can fit in it!

I got yet ANOTHER bag the other day when I decided I needed a medium sized back for when I went on a night out. A bag big enough to hold all my make up and a pair of flats for when my feet got too sore. I picked up this lovely bag for €9. It's simple and would go with a lot of outfits and colours.

I love to add a few hair accessories to my hair so I picked up this green flower for €1.50. It can also be used as a broach .

Finally my lovely boyfriend's Mam picked me up these fab leopard print flats. They were a fantastic bargain only €1 reduced from €6. I was chuffed with them!

So that is what I have been buying in Primark lately. Hopefully for my wallets sake I won't go too mad next month.

Primark Make-up Wipes VRS Superdrug Make-up Wipes

When it comes to make-up wipes I can be very picky. I either love them or hate them. My skin can be quite sensitive around the eyes so certain wipes can really sting. I only really use make-up wipes to take off eye make-up as they can be quite drying on skin. My skin is dry enough as it is without extra dryness!

The pink make-up wipes from Primark have been my number one make-up wipes for over a year now. I love them. They work, are not sore and you get 50 wipes for €1.50!  While in Superdrug in London I decided to test out Sleek's Pout Paints. Not realising a little goes A LONG WAY I was left looking like I had just committed murder. My hands were covered in red lip paint. I have no idea how such a small amount can make such a big mess.

In order to clean up the mess I picked up a packet of Superdrug Skin Essentials Camomile Wipes. I think I only paid 99p, but at the moment the Superdrug website says they are £1.99 so maybe I got them in a special offer. Since the 'murder' incident I have been using them nearly everyday. So how do they compare to my beloved Primark wipes?

Primark 4 in 1 Deep Facial Cleansing Wipes
  • 4 in 1 cleanser, eye make-up remover, toner and moisturiser.
  • Dermatologically tested
  • 2 packs for the bargain price of €1.50
  • Bright Pink Packaging
  • Doesn't sting or irritate my face.

Superdrug Skin Essentials Camomile Wipes
  • 4 in 1 cleanser, eye make-up remover, toner and moisturiser.
  • Dermatologically tested.
  • Approved by Superdrug skincare specialists.
  • Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
  • Superdrug is against animal testing
  • Nice Scent
  • Bright yellow packaging which I love. Very handy to find when you misplace them!
  • Doesn't sting or irritate my face.

So the big question, which brand do I prefer? I'm shocked to say it but Superdrug! Even though it doesn't work out as good value for money I think Superdrug still wins. (Not by too much though!) They are just slightly better than the Primark version. I really hope the Suerdrug in Omni Park stocks them as I would love to buy more. If you don't live near a Superdrug or are looking for amazing bargain wipes then the Primark ones are perfect. I still highly recommend them.

Sally Hansen Nail Strips

Before I went to London I bought a pair of runners in Penney's as I knew I would be walking miles over there. Unfortunately they didn't fit my huge feet so I had to bring them back. (They barely fit my sister who is a size 6 so I think they are shrinking shoes) Alas, by the time I returned from London I had lost the receipt so I could only get an exchange.  I had my eye on Sally Hansen Nail Wraps for aggggessss so I picked them up for my exchange. They are originally €5.50 but only cost €1.50 in exchange for the runners. So did they live up to my expectations?

Inside the pack is 16 nail polish strips, a mini nail file and cuticle stick. The strips are made from real nail polish and actually have a strong nail polish smell. This surprised me as I have used strips in the past that were just plastic stickers.

1. Pick a wrap that fits your nail size.
2. Remove the clear protective plastic.
3. Apply strip to nail, rub, file into place.

Please ignore the state of my nails they are in bits at the moment and are tiny... :(

Overall I was quite pleased with how the nail strips turned out! I found them easy to apply and didn't take too long. (About ten minutes) They are not as messy or as strong in scent as actual nail polish which is a bonus. Unfortunately I found that they did not stay on too long. This however is my fault as I always subconsciously peel off my nail varnish. It drives me insane! I could see them lasting a good few days on a person who does not attack their nails like me!

I was quite impressed and would buy them again for a night out or a special occasion. Next time I would pick a different pattern as the pattern I picked at first glance just looks like crackled nail polish. I'm not sure at a glance people would notice the real pattern on the nails.

Cosmetics and Tiny Airport Bags....

Travelling by plane can be a nightmare when it comes to cosmetics. If your anything like me you will want to bring the kitchen sink with you. How is everything I want to bring supposed to fit into such a tiny bag?! It's ok in Dublin Airport where they don't really seem to care too much but by god are English airports strict. If your bag doesn't close it's not going anywhere! Penney's / Primark's travel bottles can be a girls best friend in this situation. Here is how I fit (well squeezed) everything I wanted into the tiny airport bag.

First of all here is a picture of the Primark bottles. For only €1.50 you get three 100 ml bottles and three small containers. It also comes with handy stickers to label the bottles shampoo, cleanser, toner etc.

There is no way all of this would fit!
Now here is what I wanted to fit into the tiny airport bag. After I took the photos I found a few more items so this is not the full amount... I'm lucky I'm staying with my parents so I don't have to worry about shampoo and stuff. I would never fit them in!

I don't want to take too much Rescue Oil or face scrub with me so I put them  into the small containers.

You can't bring glass bottles on the plane so my ColurStay had to go into a bottle.  My moisturiser also went into a bottle.
I don't want to bring perfume so I'm just bringing a body spray. I put it into a smaller bottle and took the  top  off the bigger bottle so it is still a spray.
And finally they all fit with room to spare!

So that's my cosmetics packed! Now off to London! :)
